We are so excited about our newest partnership with VinoShipper which provides us with two new benefits for our wine fans.  First of all, on our site, there is now a direct link to our very own Fireside Winery shopping portal.  You can also access it directly with the address:  https://www.vinoshipper.com/wines/fireside_winery

On VinoShipper, you can pick and choose which Fireside wines you want, whenever it works for you and whereever you are.  That means, yes, you can buy wine at midnight, in your pajamas, while eating popcorn and watching your favorite TV shows.

The other great benefit from the partnership is we now have the ability to ship direct to the consumer more than ever before thanks to VinoShipper's ability to share their shipping license in certain states with us.

We can now ship to all the states shaded in purple.  The states in purple with lines through them indicate states that we previously had licenses to ship direct to the consumer.  As you can see, the new partnership opened up Fireside wines to be shipped to 14 new states, with a grand total of 23 states.  Very exciting!!!

POLKA! Oktoberfest at Fireside

Dust off your Dirndl (ladies) and Lederhosen (gentlemen) and get ready to POLKA with Gary's Ridgeland Dutchmen band. Fireside Winery will celebrate the areas German heritage on the last Saturday of September - and Oktoberfest means Polka!

And for the POLKA newbies, we're offering FREE POLKA DANCE LESSONS at 6pm and 8pm.

In addition, we will be serving delicious MILLSTREAM BEER TONIGHT ONLY! With dance lessons, wine and beer, there are no excuses not to be here !

Featuring the Wisconsin Polka Hall of Fame Band : Gary's Ridgeland Dutchmen

We welcome fans of Oktoberfest and Polka to join us during our first Fireside Oktoberfest. This amazing Hall of Fame Band will perform live on our big stage (with plenty of room for dancing) the scenic grounds of Fireside Winery. We encourage fun, dancing and welcome you, your friends, and family to join us for our Harvest Celebration!

FOOD : P.H.A.T. Daddy's restaurant, a local favorite, will prepare delicious German styled food ($15/pp). Appetizers will be available until 5pm. (we ask you to refrain from bringing outside food and beverages to Fireside Winery).

About the Band : Gary's Ridgeland Dutchmen - "An award winning Polka/ Variety band from Cashton, WI. Chosen as Wisconsin Polka Hall of Fame's Band of the Year in 2003 and 2008, also Gary was inducted into the World Concertina Congress Hall of Fame in 2008. Our CD, "25 Year's of Miles, Smiles and Memories" won "Album of the Year" from Wisconsin Polka Music.com.

Just recently our latest CD, "Brueggen Down the House" picked up Variety CD of the Year from 247polkaheaven.com and also the Polka America Corporation.

The band plays a variety of Polka music including Dutchmen/German/Czech style, Polish Style and Slovenian style along with a variety of country, big band, swing, and 50's and 60's music.

Tropical Iowan Night - Sat., Aug. 4th

Tropical Iowan Night - Fireside Winery will transform into "Wine-a-Rita-ville" on Saturday, August 4th (4-10pm) when the Cedar Island Band plays all of your favorite tropical-infused tunes!

Special event celebrating warm island breezes amongst the rolling hills and richly hued Iowa sunsets. Dress for FUN (Tropical attire encouraged). We're featuring two wonderful groups:

4-7pm - Pennies on the Rail
7-10pm - Cedar Island Band

The Tropical Iowan Night is Fireside Winery's annual tropical island music special event. Bands will perform on two large outdoor stages on the scenic grounds of Fireside Winery.

We encourage fun, dancing and welcome you, your friends, and family to join us for our Tropical Iowan Night!

Overview

Our GLOW (Vintage 2011), a delicious white wine, is made from our Iowa grown Brianna grapes.  Amazing tropical fruit aromas and flavors deliver an enticing and satisfying treat for the lovers of sweet white wines. A perfect summer sipping wine or an excellent accompaniment to spicy food.  Best when served chilled. $14

Color/Aroma/Palate

Moderately hued straw colored wine. A rich balance of sweet and tart, GLOW delivers scrumptious aromas of tropical fruit, rich apricot and peach, and a hint of spice.  Cool fermentation enhances the pineapple, banana, mango and apricot you’ll enjoy.  The pleasantly long, rich, and silky-sweet finish is the perfect wine to share with your friends.

Around Fireside...happenings

Summer is here at last...and before you know it we'll be in the vineyard harvesting our grapes and making wine again!  This is just a brief note to catch you up with the happenings around Fireside Winery.

In the Cellar:  Zach, our winemaker, is in the process of bottling all of our 2010 wines in order to make room for the 2011 grapes that will need space.  We're continually working to improve our wine quality through education and top-of-the-line winery equipment.  We've recently upgraded our wine filtration system, a machine we use to make sure the wine is clear; and have added 3,000 gallon-worth of new stainless steel tanks. 

These behind-the-scene changes reflect our commitment to quality wine and our goal of continual improvement.  

KCRG A-List: Earlier this Spring we asked you to show your support by voting for Fireside Winery as your favorite "wine shop" in the KCRG A-List.  Because of your efforts we were awarded the 2011 Winner "Best Wine Shop" in Eastern Iowa!

Excellent Entertainment: our line-up of high quality local musicians make a trip to Fireside even more enjoyable.  Each Friday (arrive by 6pm) we have lively music (bring your dancing shoes), delicious catered food of P.H.A.T. Daddy's Restaurant, and all of our wines.

Every Sunday (open noon-5pm) we offer a more casual mix of live music, appetizers, and wine-by-the glass (or bottle) and a lovely environment to relax with your friends.

Special Events: Every so often we produce an extra-special event for our winery friends.  Here are a couple of our upcoming events:  July 16th - Tropical Iowan Night featuring the musical performance of the Cedar Island Band, delicious tropical foods prepared by P.H.A.T Daddy's; and on September 24th we'll be rockin' country style during our Harvest Festival (and Hog Roast) with Chris Brooks and the Silver City Boys.
